Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts

Fall has arrived and so have pumpkins! All kinds. So recipes using pumpkin/squash will be coming your way for a while! There are at least 3 being finely tuned to bring to you.
I have been using pumpkin and butternut squash a lot lately in the kitchen: squash soup, gilled pasta, gnocchi, just baked with a little mozzarella, you name it! I absolutely love love squash in all of its forms. I must admit that I always eat it in a savoury dish, never have I had it as dessert, or have I used it in a sweet recipe. Until now that is!
I do remember that when I was a kid there was often pumpkin in a syrup served as dessert. I never tried it off course, being somewhat narrow minded about what was dinner and what was supposed to be dessert, and squash was not it. My parents loved it though.

Vanilla Ice Cream, Peaches & Dulce De Leche

The summer is over in Paris but will soon arrive to other hemisphere. I made this dessert a while back, for some friends that came over for dinner. I thought it would be a good idea to share one last summery dessert with you before I go on full fall mode!
It has homemade vanilla ice cream, it also has fresh and juicy peaches, and to top it all off dulce de leche. Yes, warm, delicious runny dulce de leche to make this dessert prefect. Most importantly super easy to prepare. Something you could serve at a dinner party.

Walnut, Mascarpone & Figs Dessert

Figs take me back to when I was little girl. They take me back to summers at my grandfather's farm. We had two big fig trees. I remember spending a lot of time climbing up and down those trees. I remember my mom making slow cooked figs in a light syrup, and fig marmalade. It's still one of her favorite things to date. I also remember volunteering to get the figs from the tree, it was an adventure for a 7 years old!
And what comes to my mind more than anything is that I did not like figs at all. To be completely honest, I only started liking figs very recently. So for me, experimenting with this beautiful fruit is something rather novel.
